Yep. I mean they literally made a decision that the 3rd string QB didn't put up enough points against a 15 ranked team. The 2nd string QB would have started the playoff game but I guess a low scoring win is not as valuable for TV ratings than a win in a high scoring game. It is like we may as well just play the last 3 games of the season and just use the eye test to think who is better.

I am not convinced that Bama could beat Florida State with their second string QB who beat Florida. He would have been back in time for the playoffs a month from now. If you go on metrics and recent games you have to look at how Bama was dominated by a 6-5 Auburn team in their last regular season game and got lucky in the last two minutes.
The rest of the country outside of Alabama will know we have an imposter in the final four.

Did you say the same thing about OSU in 2015 when they won a natty with their 3rd string QB? At least FSU would have their 2nd string QB.

Yep, non-CFP bowl games, in my opinion, are equivalent to NFL pre-season games. I wouldn't even count them in the win/lose column. All the smart NFL talent will/should sit it out. They already made theirs school plenty of money. Just turning more and more a scrimage gane to play young untested players and to reward good kids who rode the bench. They are a hard pass for me

This is probably the last straw for FSU. I see them leaving the ACC over this. It is a shame because the ACC has some good teams but gets no respect when you put in 2 one loss teams over an undefeated ACC champion.

They had their chance to go to the SEC when they went to the ACC. They chose the easier football Conference and it worked. They did well. From what I have read the want in to the SEC now, (more $$$), but the Gators are saying no. NC State looks like a more likely choice for the SEC, get the North Carolina market.

After that performance last night even though they got the W they made what was going to be a hard decision very easy. I was afraid Texas was going to get screwed instead of Georgia. GA is probably the better team but I think Texas did just enough to leapfrog them. After how bad FSU looked last night it was an easy decision IMO to leave them out.

I so wished that FSU and Clemson came to the SEC instead of OK an TX.

Geographically it makes more sense and both are winners.

Agree…I’m happy for my team but man that’s tough. Do I think FSU would have showed well in a playoff game? Probably not, but there is a lot of hurting kids right now, and it’s the ACC’s fault.

So they made a decision based on the points a 3rd string QB did against a 15th ranked team? The 3rd string, true Freshman QB was not going to start in the playoffs. And why did the 3rd string QB start? Because of a dirty cheap hit on the 2nd string QB in the Florida game. I think FSU and their defense could have beaten any of the top 3 teams with their defense and their running game but they will not get the chance to do it despite being 13-0. This was a BS decision.

Money trumps everything. Going undefeated apparently means nothing.

Putting Bama in over FSU tells you everything you need to know about college football. Bama went into this week ranked 8th by the same people. FSU was 4th. Again by the same committee. If winning your games doesn’t matter then why do they keep score? Is Bama better than FSU? Yes. But so is Georgia, Ohio St. etc.

I agree, but it is about new markets and money. The SEC already has the Gators and Gamecocks in those markets and play them every year anyways. A North Carolina team(s) makes more business sense.

Not just the 3rd string, but the 2nd string as well. Both are garbage.

Difference is their 3rd string qb was actually good. FSU 2nd and 3rd string are terrible.
