Few years back was out on Newboro, the 24th of December. Was a little breezy and did cover quite an area of the lake. The catch was NON EXISTENT.
I'm usually first boat in, in the spring and last boat out of the water in the fall.
Have gotten too soon old, too late smart.

Same! Don't know if it was just getting older or smarter but I'm a lot more picky about the weather than I used to be
I’ll crappie fish 3-4 days a week as long as it’s not freezing rain and blowing. When/if the lakes freeze, I’ll hit up the power plant lakes. The pic in the original post is a no go.

My best smallmouth day ever was a day fishing in a heavy snowstorm years back.
We stayed at a motel that night due to the storm and the following day we had about 6 inches of snow on the deck and we did it again.
We were never able to duplicate that day again.
Once I fished on the Mystic River it snowed like that I couldn't leave the largemouth just kept biting ,when you pulled them out of the water they didn't move

Balmy 38 and rain here in Michigan this morning. Looks like warmer temps from here until Christmas. Ice fishermen will not be happy.

that’s how it is here too… was hoping to be standing on ice the week before Christmas but with this warming trend it looks like early January will be considered “early ice” again..

If it wasn't for the rain, it would be a decent day to go walleye fishing. There hasn't been much wind the last few days, but the rain has been a problem.
I’ve had some snow on my deck before but never that much, always in the spring though late March early April.

Never had that much snow in my boat, but have fished plenty of days where I had to bust ice to launch and clear the ice from my line guides every couple of casts.
