This is the most logical mix of Teams. Enter two factors: Bias and money, they put others in.
If we treat the conference championships as a quarterfinal of sorts to the CFP, the most impressive wins were Michigan (Iowa has zero offense but a really good defense); Washington (Oregon and Washington have high powered offenses but weak defenses); Texas (660 total yards, 33 first downs), who beat Ala, in Tuscaloosa; and Fla State (good defense but don't think their offense is good enough right now to beat the other three above). Georgia showed they were overrrated. Alabama and Milroe were impressive but they lost to Texas at home. Ohio State shouldn't even be mentioned, they sat at home. If I'm the committee who is thinking logic, and dollars, you put UM 1, WA 2, TX 3, and FSU 4. The better defenses playing in semis and better offenses playing each other. Then hopefully you get a UM-WA final, making it a 'pseudo' Rose Bowl before the Pac 12 blows up.
Except OSU was at home watching their conference championship. In a weak conference.

Until the CFP expands to 6 or 8 teams they will continue to be a joke.
Just do away with all of it and go back old school to the coaches and AP poll....you people didn't like the BCS, don't like the CFP, won't like the expanded cfp...may as well go back to letting the press handle it and just hand out the trophy...you'll never be satisfied with any of it....
