Been there, done that. Not to that extreme, but the deck did get covered with snow. It was late March and it melted quickly.

I went out for a few hours today. It was 38 degrees and cloudy but very little wind so it wasn’t too bad. I only caught two small fish but it was nice to get out in December. I have now fished out of my boat in every month of 2023 except January.

Never had the boat covered in snow. But, I broke skim ice more than once on the way to a spot first thing in the morning of an early spring tournament.

Still fishing LSC when the wind allows. I've been targeting walleye and the bite has been good casting jigs on the flats next to shipping channel after dark, and up in the shallows along the mile roads.

I don't want people to say about me, "He died doing what he liked doing". I don't like choking on water as I drown. Never did. That much snow I stay home.

I usually have my boat in storage before Halloween. It’s always a crap shoot, sometimes we’ve had ice on the shorelines in October with 6” of snow, other times the ramps are clear in December. I don’t wanna risk getting a deep early freeze and my boat not be winterized.

I usually take my jon boat out when the bass boat is put away. We’ve had some amazing days when there was a snowstorm or when it would be like 18deg in the morning.

coldest I’ve ever been out fishing was ice fishing in winter of 2016; normal temp was -20 with windchill making it -36. We caught a ridiculous amount of lake trout and landlock salmon. 3/4 guys got early stage frost bite and I personally had no feeling in 2 of my right fingertips for a few weeks. But it was worth it

When I was younger I fished a LOT in Nov and DECEMBER for walleye and perch. Was out one time and the steering must of froze up on the Thruway from the wind chill so I couldn't turn the steering wheel once we pushed off from the dock.........lol.......took my bait bucket and kept pouring warmer lake water on the steering arm at the transom. In a couple of minutes it thawed it up and we limited out on walleye on Chautauqua Lake that December day.

Also again heading to Chautauqua only got up about 1/4 of the way up the hill in about 2" of snow when my van and boat started sliding down the hill. The back of the boat and trailer hit the guard rail a little bit taking out the right tail light and a very small ding in the transom where it met the starboard side of the boat. I got the rig up a little bit into a farmers driveway and manually took off the trailer from the van and turned it around and hooked it back up. Then went a different route to get to the launch.

Now after mid October I just sit here and read stupid stuff on the BBC.........................LOL
