    Foiled baits

    I have been trying to learn how to foil a crank bait for some time now. I am getting better. What do you guys thing??? Any helpful pointers on foiling lures are welcomed.

    Jason they look good,it's a little harder to foil a plastic bait compared with a wooden bait. Are you using the dowel rod to smooth with?

    Thanks, I am using the dowel rod, The next one I am going to try to scale it I think that will hide some of the wrinkles in the foil, I can see where a wood bait would be easier. I want to start making some wood lures. Maybe one day...

    Scaling will help, also if a wooden dowel isnt working you can try a smooth alum rod such as an exacto knife handle (without the knurling) for burnishing the foil down, the one I have I've spent about an hour sanding on it making it as slick as possible
