    Battery ?

I just purchased hds live 9 and 12 and a a.t.1. I want to run dedicated lithium just for these electronics. Now I'm cash depleted . I'm trying to figure a suitable option cost wise to accomplish this. I don't want to run graphs off crank battery. What are some options?

I wrote a magazine article that also has an embedded video showing a DIY method to get the best performance. It shows how to build your own wiring to put your electronics on separate wiring and house battery. All the parts in the video are available on Amazon.

For that little amount of amp pull, may I ask why you don’t want to run off the cranking battery? With a good AGM starter, you would have no issues at all with that little amount of power requirement. However if you are dead set against this, check out the Redodo Power website. They are offering some great deals on LiFePO batteries. Even more discounts if you sign up for email alerts. For what you have a 30-50 AH battery would be more than sufficient.

I have a 27 crank battery and the old gamblers don't have a fuse panel. I guess I could run a dedicated panel but thought I could eliminate any problems having a dedicated clean power source.

Yeah, I wouldn’t do it with a 27 but a 31 has plenty for what you need. I ran a single wire from the battery to a Blue Seas fuse box in the rod locker. Then all my units, modules, and the NMEA Network connect in at the fuse panel. Works for me and probably cost the same as getting a new battery, tray, and wiring. And you still should run the wires to a fuse block bar you install. My Triton is almost 20 years old so I’m in the same boat although I had accessory switches I could have used. Single wire to a fuse box is the definition of “clean power”. Although I don’t think that term is very well defined and used far too often in circumstances it doesn’t apply to!

I was just referring clean power as dedicated from fuse block to each graph and A.T with nothing else on that wire. The 41 battery would cost more than lithium to run just electronics. Thanks for reply
