mactlman, thank you very much for the info. If i get my motor raised to 3" should i go to a 4 blade Fury or Tempest Plus? I do think the 4 blade help with handling and steering. Trading a few mph for better handling and steering I am ok with.

The best all around four blade for your boat is probably a Bravo XS. They get really good bow lift. Fury 4 lifts the stern a little more than I like.

I’m guessing that 21 x3 at 62 mph had no chine walk because it was 2-3 mph away yet from being fast enough to have it get up on the pad to start the balancing act.
When younger I wanted to top the boat out. As I’ve gotten older the effort to saw the wheel back and forth for that last 3-4 mph has much less allure then it did a few years ago.
My current boat is a 2010 21hp with a 300xs and is probably capable of 80+ but chine starts around 68 and unless I’m specifically on a top speed run dropping to speed just before chine starts is plenty fast.
Not many boats capable of running over mid 60’s even if setup properly won’t have some chine walk and yes u have to learn to drive it (not through it) but it sure ain’t no myth!

dbs1, yes i agree with you on all points. I to now older prefer a smoother less effort ride and speed just think there is a bit more i can get out of her. Also, yes i am thinking at 60 and 62 mph i am just under the CW phase. I think I will go to another prop just not sure it want to go with a 3 vs 4 blade.. Think I am really interested in the BEST around performing 4 blade for my 21X3.
