    Strainer(s)???

    1999 200 Opti (ser# 0G886121)

Hey everyone. I'm working on an over temp issue that's happening when my motor idles for extended periods. I removed and cleaned a strainer that's located on the lower portion of the block (item 19 on the attached diagram). The diagram also shows another strainer at the top of the block, somewhere up underneath the alternator/compressor (item 20). However, I can't find one on the top of the block, unless it is up underneath the alternator/compressor, and I just can't see it??? Does anyone know if this motor really has two (2) strainers? Thanks.

19 is for SN 0G911720 and above
20 is for SN 0G911719 and below
21 plugs the hole 20 was in after they moved the strainer to the adapter plate on SN 0G911720 and above

    Hope that makes sense.

    ^^^^^ There you go.

Your engine only has the one strainer.
