    Replacing rod tip????

I need to replace the tip on one of my baitcasting rods. The ceramic inset cracked and is fraying my line.

My question is, how do I get the existing tip off to put a new one on???

    Re: Replacing rod tip???? (mitchell301)

I hold the tip with needle-nose pliers, carefully apply just a little heat to the tip with a Bic lighter, should pull right off. To replace it take the new tip, I shave a few slivers of glue off the stick, stick them into the new tip, and reverse the extraction procedure. Don't let the flame touch the rod.
