I have a STANDFORD BALSA Crankbait and would like to fix it also.. a chuck is missing out of the back left side and now it swims side ways.. So I will be checking back .. cause I would like to fix it also.. http://www.stanfordlures.com/

well I guess this ones up to us-lol. I think I may try filling in the holes with epoxy and then sanding smooth. Cant hurt to try.
are you going to repaint them after you get the dents filled?
yeah,the dents are on old lures that i dont use because of the dents. thought i could repair them and repaint
Sand them down, put some wood putty on them and then repaint them?
it would take a lot of sanding to take all the old paint off and dont know if they are worth that much work-lol
Some guys will take them down to bare wood,with balsa I'll wood putty small spots,sand the bait down and paint
Depending on the depth of the area to repair, it's not too hard. I use bondo glazing putty for shallow nicks & scratches, Durhams wood putty for deeper gouges & holes, let it set up, sand, repaint, & clearcoat with devcon epoxy.
