    Mystery Champion model

I sure hope some of you Champion authorities can help me out with this one. I’ve acquired a Champ that I’m not sure how to describe so I’m just gonna post pics. It’s not a bass boat and not a bay boat, but it is a Champion.

Thanks, I didn’t realize they made such.
It’s in pretty rough shape right now but I’m gonna see just how bad it is try and salvage her if I can.

Last 4 of the HIN will tell you when it was made and what year model it is. First of the last 4 is alpha, A-L = Jan - Dec. Next digit is year of mfg. Last 2 is title year. It changed roughly mid-year so boats built in June/July would be titled the following year. That one looks to be an 80s boat. There was a Super fisherman in 84 & 85 listed as 16'. The 176 Fishunter didn't show up until 1991. It could be that late, but there was a console change sometime in the early 90s. They also migrated from the Gothic font in the name around 91-92.

Thank you for the info, the title states it’s a 90 model.
I’m in central TX, coincidentally the hull looks pretty perfect for chasing striped bass around Lake Buchanan if it ever fills back up. And the burnt orange looking top cap and arrow will surely appeal to someone.
My bass rig is a 184 Champ, most likely this fish hunter will go to someone for next to nothing that is looking for a project.

Built in April of 1990 and is a 1990 model. If that is confusing, the model yesr changes mid calendar year. My 2005 198 was built in Oct of 2004. Its last 4 digits are J405.

Kking01, Lea beat me to it. It could be an early Fishunter 176.

It'll be a huge project. Guaranteed to have plenty of rot, even if transom is good.

Sounds like a great project for someone that wants one. I couldn’t be happier with my 88 184, so I’m not really looking to start a boat project.
It will be a bargain for someone. Thank you all for the info!
