Prop comparison Razor XL vs Bravo and Tempest

This is a very general question

Razor Xl, Bravo 1, Tempest Plus

Assuming that all three props are the same pitch and have not been "worked" what should a person expect to see. What would pull the hardest or have the lowest RPM of the 3? What typically would create the most bow lift?

    Thanks

I know this is a nube type question and that there are a million variables. Just looking for general tendencies.

    Thanks

I can't comment on the Razor XL as I've never run one. The tempest + gives A LOT of bow lift and very good top speed. The Bravo depends on the model, but the XS or FS gives a terrific hole shot, screaming mid range speeds, good bow lift, and probably within 1mph or 2 of the tempest. The bravo XS/FS is one heck of a prop, and does everything great.

I agree with the above post.

I will add that the Tempest Plus runs about one pitch stiffer than a Bravo XS.

I have a Razor XL and am looking for the comparison to the Bravo and Tempest+. The Razor I have is just a little too much pitch and I'm considering trying one of the other two and am curious if I had a 25 Razor how a 25 Bravo and 25 Tempest+ compare.

Is your Razor XL a 26 pitch?

What hull and engine are you running and what jack plate brand size and PTP.

Too many unknowns for a good answer.

29" Pitch is a lot unless you are running a 300 on a light boat.

I am just looking for the general comparison in prop to prop if they were all the same pitch.

I am NOT looking for a prop recommendation.

But... to answer your question I know a 29 is probably too big however my situation is unique because I am running a four stroke lower unit with a 2:1 gear ratio on a 225 ox66 Yamaha hanging on a 99 TR21 Triton with a 9.5" Jackplate set at 2.5" p2p. The reason I am running this setup is because I was having water pressure issues with the stock lower when I found the four stroke option at a reasonable price. It has dual water pickups. The 29 razor is "Close" to the propeller answer I am looking for but I am just trying to figure out if a 29 Tempest or Bravo due to the different blade diameter, profile, etc would give me any added performance.

Ive run a Tempest 27p and a Razor 4 25p, they where almost identical in RPM but the Razor 4 a little bit faster on my boat. From my research a razor 4 XL isn't quite as stiff and a 26P would probably be the same as a Tempest 27p. I have not run a XL only read about it on this forum when I was shopping for a prop. I love the Razor 4, need another one now on my new boat.

Call Croxton, but a 25 razor xl would probably equal a 26" bravo XS or FS and probably be even with a Tempest + I believe.

This information will go a long way in getting the information you requested.

The 2.0 gear ratio , jackplate information, and PTP measurement will help.

Since you you are not looking for a prop recommendation I will refrain from offering one.

It is a very general question but this is my experience.
My Blueprinted 26 p Bravo 1 with 4 pvs holes all open gives me about 150 more rpm at wot than my 25 p Razor 4xl. Both have great hole shot and mid range is great on both with a slight edge to the Razor Xl. Never more than 2/3 throttle to get right on plane. The Bravo 1 26 p may be about 1 to 1 1/2 mph faster than the Razor XL. Both great props. I do think the XL may carry loads a little better. I am satisfied with both.
I also have a Tempest 24p which performs on top end about the same as the Razor 4 XL 25 p but about 350 more rpm than the Bravo 1. Bumps the limiter in cool weather on my flashed SHO. The Bravo 1 is an overall “slightly” better performing prop than the Razor 4XL on my boat the way I use and drive it. The Tempest is clearly 3rd for me.
This is a very general comparison. Your results may be different.

    THANK YOU
This is the type of info I was hoping to get.
It helps me decide if I see a "bargain" if I want to try it or not.

Thank you again for your time. I know it takes a while to compile that sort of post so it sounds coherent and makes sense.
