    20TRX or 20XP

If you’re buying new, which one would you buy, and why? The tried and true 20TRX or the new 20XP? I’m considering a new boat now that I have a large detached garage.

I would go with the 20 XP due to better weight distribution with fuel tank moved 9 inches to rear.

Having had both, 20XP all day. Best 20 foot boat on the market right now.

Have you had the 20XP in rough water? Just wondering if it handles the rough stuff as well as the 20TRX does.

Yes and yes. The XP gets up on pad better and up on top of the waves better. You can still slow down and plow through them too. I’m fishing a tournament in predicted high winds tomorrow. Will circle back after.

Fished all day in heavy winds yesterday with rough water. The XP performed flawlessly. I’m very happy with the way it handles rough water. It likes to be trimmed down a tad and run about 60 or so on top of the waves. At least that’s how I like to run it.

Mine seems to run 75 and change with two people loaded up. That’s me at 260 and partner around 200. I’m running a 25 fury.

What temp and elevation you are you with those speeds?

    Ive got a 2010 21hp with a 300 pro xs 4s and at 2000’ elevation and 78 degrees could only muster 78.5 with a
worked 25 tempest + . I envy the guys that run close to sea level and 60 degrees or so when able to stretch the boat and engines legs.

I’d love some sea level type runs. I’m sure it could run over 80 with me sawing on the steering wheel

It doesn’t chine walk. It does require a little driver input. I have had my XP for six months now and I love it more every time I get in it. Mine is pushing 77 tournament loaded with two aboard. It rides good and it’s easy to keep the bow up in rough water. IMHO, it’s the best 20 footer on the market right now.

Okay thanks and good to know. How does it do in turns? Does it roll up on the sides like the older models or will it stay flatter like a skeeter?
