    Guntersville and Pickwick Early November

Hey all, coming down to guntersville and pickwick from Illinois/Wisconsin area in the second week of November (4th thru 11th). Will the fishing be good or will it be too cold? I have a buddy down there that said it should be good, but I’d like to see what some of the locals have to say. Thanks!

It can be great weather. It can also be horrible weather. Pick wick will be at winter level which is 4-5 feet below full pool. However fishing can be great.

Some of the best fishing that I've ever had on Pickwick was in November below Wilson Dam. Be warned that it's very dangerous below the dam because of the rocks and boulders when the water is drawn down. This gives you an idea and these are the ones that you can see above the water.

Last year during that week I had limits all 5 days fishing. I was also wearing shorts in the picture. Generally speaking you will start wearing bibs and finish in shorts.

I suppose I should have noted that I have been to pickwick before, but not guntersville. The pickwick I got to see was in late May of last year and was a lot of deep cranking and other deep/ledge techniques. Thanks all for the advice, I’m excited. Hopefully they are pretty fat by the time we get there!
