It loads slow and seems bulky from a page stand point.

I remember when the came out with the one before this. There was the same dislike for it like this one. Once you learn it you will get used to it.

Yesterday I was okay with it and it did not seem like that big of a deal. Today it is driving me crazy.

I'm late to the party but just went to the site to replace a rod I broke yesterday and OMG does the new design blow. Ease of use on the site was a big reason I went to TW for everything.

This is a standard reaction across the IT industry. People do not like change, end users don't care if its better, cheaper, more secure. I literally had end users call and complain about a broken application because we changed a color on one of the forms we pushed to production. As time moves the end users will praise the new system and bash the old. End user 101.

This effects how we design applications, its a question we ask when designing. Is this worth the making the end user upset.

What are the buzzwords? Intuitive? User-friendly? Seamless?
Part of the problem is how many SKUs does TW have? How many functions are required to get products from page to consumer?
If it takes you 10 steps to order 5 items and get it to your house, everything is going to seem slow. Until we have transporters, Samantha, Jeannie or the Great Gazoo, we're going to have to deal with reality.

Not impressed with changes, maybe it will get better over time. Hate the Featured Brands. Can someone tell me how to sort the casting rods alphabetically or do I need to live chat with Nick Burns from SNL?

You missed a word – “Reality”

The reality is what took 10 steps with the old site now takes 18 steps

The reality is you expect something new or updated to be better and easier to accomplish the same task and in this case it’s not

The most common reason for this is they are trying to make the site more mobile friendly I’ve seen this on ebay. Over the last ten plus years it has redesigned the site several times for mobile access and each time it takes twice as many steps to list, sell and ship items using a PC because you can't have as much information on a page for mobile users as you can for PC users

This is very true. I’ve gotten stuff very fast from them over the last 2 months.

There are certain things about the new layout that I don’t love (eg. harder to tell if particular colors are in stock), but it’s nothing Earth-shattering. All in all, it’s still a pretty easy site to navigate.

Agree. I remember when AOL went from version 1.0 to 2.0. I almost lost my mind.

The old format you could see everything at a glance this new site requires a lot more time and navigation

Again, on the page that has images of all the colors (larger images that the drop down box images) click on the color you like and you will see all the sizes available for that color and price for each size.

First time I went to tge new layout I wasn't crazy about it. Played around on it a few times now. It's much easier to find my way around now on it Probably took me 10 minutes to get accustomed to it. I suggest just taking a little time to play around on it. It will get much easier.
Not sure why tgey changed but I doubt it was just for the hell of it though.

I just placed an order, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be... still like the old version better but I guess it's progress.

I agree with liked the idea that you knew what they had in stock .Now if you order something you have no idea how long it will to get it .hate the new site

I like it better than the old site. The pictures of items are larger and easier to see. I see no problem in navigating the new site.

With the old site you could right click on a pic and open in a new tab and it would blow the pic up to a full size page ,,, now when you try it's even smaller than whats on the screen to start with
