In Florida the law is very clear. You can only use your flashers in extreme low visibility conditions and only if you’re on a road with the speed limit of 55 mph or more. Of course if your car is broke down on the side of the road you can use them. I believe it’s $185 fine if you’re using them otherwise and three points on your license.

No, the only time is.if I am pulled over on the side of the road. But I always run with my lights on. The only exception was a very bad snow storm and no visibility. Then I ran a warning beacon for plowing. A friend following commented that was all he could see. Cj

Flashers do fine, it's the paper graphs that give you fits in the rain.

Unnecessary unless it's an absolute downpour. What grinds my gears is when it's really foggy or raining and people drive with their lights off

And then when traffic is going the same speed behind you, turn them off. No reason to keep driving with them on.

No need for flashers. If it’s raining, it’s obvious. If it’s too scary for you, pull off the road and wait it out.

How about in a whiteout? We see this all the time around here. People to ignorant to turn lights on in a snowstorm.[or stoned] Their auto lights don't come on because it is too bright and when they do they are covered with snow because LED's are not hot enough to melt it! And they are too lazy or ignorant to clean them off. I used to stop to pull people out of the ditch but with all the stupidness and drug use [oh it's legal now] I don't anymore. Sorry, rant over, almost. CJ

See it all the time around the Houston area when it’s raining, I don’t get it. Seems to be somewhat of a new thing around this area.

Seeing it more and more around the Midwest driving in winter. It is stupid if you ask me and that's why you are suppose to drive with lights.

Friend told me a story about driving home on south shore Long Island in a heavy fog. He couldn't see a thing so he was following the tail lights of the guy in front of him. Followed him right into his driveway. Would flashers have made a difference?

I use my flashers when pulled over on the side of the road, or when visibility causes me to go 15mph+ less than the posted speed limit on a highway.

Only legal in Florida. If you’re on a road with a speed limit is 55 miles an hour or more. also, if you have one of those plastic license plate covers over your whole rear plate, you’re looking to get a ticket in Collier County for $185 and three points on your license.
