    LOWER UNIT SEALS?

I have a 60hp Mercury on a 1995 Tracker. There is oil leaking from two small holes beneath the housing above the prop. The two small holes are in front of the trim tab. This all started when we had four straight days of 100 degree weather at the end of August. At first I couldn't tell if it was coming from the motor and running down, or from the lower unit.
I finally had time this weekend to pull it out, clean it up, and look at it. It is for sure coming out those two small holes described above now. Does this mean I probably just need a seal kit? Thanks in advance for any guidance.

I know I'm late to this party, but you need to drop the lower, drain the oil and do a pressure test. I've used a bicycle pump, pump til I feel resistance, and spray soapy water around s all the seals. The bubbles will tell you which seal is bad. I've repaired a shift shaft seal and prop shaft seal by doing this youtube has a lot of videos

Agree that pressure test is wise. Use caution as it's critical to know how much pressure you have applied, as well as how well the gearcase HOLDS said pressure.

As tempting as it is, PLEASE avoid the Tube when it comes to technical information or guidance. There are a FEW good ones out there, and one big giant heap of bad ones.
