Triton TR19 Pro Owners Prop & Jack Plate HELP???

I just bought a Triton Tr19 Pro with a Merc 200. It has a 6 inch jack plate, 25 Pitch Fury, less than 1/4" play in steering and it is 2.75 inches below pad and it walks pretty bad. I can only trim it up 1/4.

I know I need seat time so please don't post that.

Please post if you have or have had a Triton 19 with a 200 and give me the perfect setup. Will a larger jack plate help? 4 blade?? raising the motor??

    Thanks,

    Ben

When I got my brand new '02 and took it out to run, I thought there was some serious problem with the hull, it chine walked that bad! With seat time and some spacers to get that motor back further (8"), it drives much better. I'm running it with an hydraulic plate so I can vary the height but otherwise a similar setup. I still have to drive it at WOT but now able to recognize when it wants to walk and able to compensate. A great boat though!

Below is the advce as I posted on your post in the General Forum. As stated above...two more inches of set back won't hurt.

You're set up sounds good as is but you can come up on the plate 1/4" at a time until you loose water pressure or speed. A 24-25 Tempest would also be a good choice. As far as the chine walk....slow left pulls on the wheel and practice. Your boat will chine walk some no matter what...

Is the hull similar to the TR196?

If I held my steering wheel still, like a car, I would get thrown out of the boat within a 1/2 mile, every time I drove it. There is NO magic set-up. I know you don't want to hear seat time, but that is the correct answer!

The best thing that you can do is to go fishing with someone that knows how to drive. Sorry but that's the right answer.

My 2001 TR19...I can hold easy with one hand up to about 62. After that....hands are 10 and 2. Small corrections. It still gets walking more than I can correct and learned real quick....trim down before you let off the gas. I swear my boat chine walks sittin on the trailer going down the highway LOL..

    2022 tr19 tilt binding?

    Hey all,
I have a tr19 patriot with a 225 merc pro xs. I don’t have a lot of hours on the boat but all of a sudden there is a binding noise when I use the tilt. It makes noise when the pistons are moving in and out. When the pistons are all the way out there is no noise for the rest of the tilt. Likewise tilting down from all the way up, no noise until the pistons start to move.
    anyone experienced this?
