I have been near that many many times (but never over 150) when I had my 2002 Z06 and used to track it. And that is the most chill moment on the lap since you are going down the straight. It gets tense when you are slowing down for the next turn at 140+. Cooked the brakes a couple times and overshot the turn after the straight and went agricultural. The new Vettes can easily do 150+ on most large tracks on the straight with a decent driver, and most Vette owners that track their C8s have done this every lap they have run.

My wife has and I'm glad I wasn't in the car at the time.

We waited 10 months for our 2022 C8 Z51 convertible when we ordered it, maybe the guy doesn’t have our patience?

Friend of ours got a C8 this summer. He always wanted a Vette and he loves his ride. It's not for me but I'm not him. Next year, he goes to Vegas for driving school and some special events. He's already been to school for general performance cars. This will be with a pro on a track in the same model Vette

One possible reason the Mecum buyer overpaid is the lead time. I think our friend waited well over a year (maybe 18 months) and he works for a Chevy dealer.

    This is a no-brainer. Can't fit a dead deer in a Vette--you can't hardly fit golf clubs

Who wants to put a dead deer in either the Vette or the Porche?

    They make trucks for that.

It will be her ride, not mine. We have a truck for daily running around. Her current ride is a hard loaded '17 Mustang GT and its pretty much just to go to work and back. Had it almost 7 years now and it only has a little of 50k miles on it.

I find this quite comical. Some folks are concerned about why others wish to purchase a certain vehicle. Why would one want to fit a dead deer or a set of clubs in anything? Why would someone want a vehicle with a set of horns on the hood? Why would one want to drive under 55, or over 150, or buy a Porsche, Ford, Honda? etc., etc. Good grief Charlie Brown. Y'all are killin' me.

I can raise my hand. 190. But I’m really a CAMARO guy, even though I owned a couple of Z06’s.

I’ve got those shoes and I can verify that Mark’s observation is very true, LOL. I’m still slower than molasses.
