I've been catching deep fish, 20-30 feet, and they are rolling over in the live well. I'm suspecting that the air bladder needs to be deflated. I hear that you should stick it with a needle, not sure. Anyone know how this is done??

Here is a great demo on how to Fizz a bass
I just keep a syringe w/ a 22 GA needle in my tackle box and throw away the plunger. You can buy them cheap at any drug store. Hope this helps......

I like a larger gauge needle, got mine at the Farm Supply.
There are 2 ways...through the side an through the mouth. The mouth/throat is quicker but also more dangerous with a major artery next to the crushers. I learned by practicing on tournament fish that people dumped after summer events...fish that would have most likely died anyway, as no one took the initiative to help....so I did. Remeber this: DO NOT squeeze the air out...Let it come out naturally. It is better to leave a little too much in than take too much out, as they will sink staight to the bottom and stay...You can buy the cheap needles from a pharmacy, which I have a stock of...but I alos carry a couple of Bends Menders that you can get at Tackle Warehouse, etc. They are longer, easier to use, and easier to keep track of, with their size...
I'll catch Kentucky's down to 50 ft. at LOZ and 60 ft. at Table Rock. All of these deep fish would have died without fizzing. Most of the floaters I find on these lakes were caught by people who didn't fizz the bass. As Steve said, it is easier to fizz through the side and safer for the bass. Lots of videos on You Tube on how to fizz a bass.
