Thanks Joe. Sounds like it's a recommended check regarding the white/blk wire just in case.

Update: I was on the water on Monday and experienced the issue only during the 1st and 2nd run of the day. After that it ran fine. I did primer the system before each start. Last time I only had the issue on the 1st run of the day.

    Any new ideas or suggestions?

wish you could have had a fuel psi gauge set up on it when it did this to confirm that fuel psi is dropping when this occurs

I had an issue with starting while moving between fishing holes a couple years back. Ended up being a piece of leaf debris in the bilge fuel filter/water separator. Make sure you do not overlook the simple things. That filter is now gone and I always change out the one on the motor when I winterize.

Thanks Todd. I don't have an inline fuel filter and have changed out everything from the tank to the mechanical fuel filter which I have rebuilt 3 times. I'm thinking you may be right about an obstruction but may be in the pick up tube or the anti-siphon valve.

Joe - when I've checked fuel pressure it has been good at idle at home but the connection always leaks. I even tried someone elses and it leaked but the pressure was good. What size or coupling do I need? I want to make sure I have the right one before going on the water to check.

    Thanks

It is a ford adaptor; all are the same just avoid the cheap ones and be sure it has the right connector for your hose.
recommend OTC adaptors: seals last longer.

Thanks for the info. I haven't had time to check the pressure again or do anything to the boat yet.

But I did fish in a tournament on Saturday and I had no issues. Very weird. I did fill up the fuel tank that morning. When I have time I'm plan to check the gas tank vents (two separate hoses, on from each side of the tank going to a vent hole). After that I will move to the anti-siphon valve and the pick up tube. If things don't improve after that I will disconnect the idle stabilizer and re-time the engine.

I will keep my eye out for any additional guidance and keep you posted. Thank you again.

I used the middle grade fuel (89). I recall using the lower grade prior to that (87). Sounds like I should stick with 89?

Make sure the trigger advance lever is not being restricted in any and verify full travel. If that arm does not advance the timing your not going anywhere fast.

Thanks Leon. I recall checking that before but will check again. I still haven't had time to check the vent hoses, pick up tube and anti-siphon valve yet. Hopefully in a couple of weeks. Thanks again

check that trigger movement when its cold sometimes the arm will not move as freely due to grease or stiff wiring on trigger harness
