First bottle I got did fine. It’s thin, easy on and off so if little time and little effort are important it’s got that going for it. With that, it does not hold up as long so that’s the trade off. Second bottle the consistency was weird, I may have just got a bad batch. I enjoy detailing so I try different products here and there. I keep coming back to the Collinite brand. I like their 925 fiberglass wax as well as their insulator wax. Their heavy duty fleet wax in the can will last a lonnnng time but it’s more labor intensive to use since it’s so thick and heavy.

Pro-Tec is good polish and we also sell it in the store. The Lucas kit comes standard on boats and Lucas works well also. Those that are longer lasting will be harder to apply.
I use their sealant which, IMO is important, as gel coat is porous. I strip my boat and apply two coats of Pro Tec sealant at the beginning of each season, which is 7-8 months long where I am. I then use the Chemical Guys ceramic products over top of the Pro Tec all season long.

I have been using it for years. I just finished doing my boat. I apply it about 3 times a year. I wipe down with distilled water after use most of the time, and it lasts very well.
There are a lot of great products on the market, but if it ain’t broke….
Also my boat is not a Basscat, if that makes a difference![]()
I’m very meticulous on my boat finish. In the past I would apply a high end/expensive ceramic coating every year and Protec afterwards. The lakes i fish have very hard water and the boat would spot bad. In the last couple years I have switched to Turtle Wax Ceramic Hybrid coating and I’m super impressed. It goes on easy and provides extended protection against spotting.
