    Big Fish!!!!

    King Kat Catfish Circuit fished my home waters today, Lac Des Allemands....first time a competitive catfish circuit came here. They fish all over the nation...Santee Cooper, Wheeler, Ms River in Ill, all over. These guys were stunned. Some caught 1,000 to 2,000 lbs of Catfish in about 6 hours, some having 30 catfish over 40lbs. I believe today, 62 lbs is the big fish with 169 lbs ...3 fish limit leading. They said they ain't ever seen anything like this. Watch this vid for 10 minutes or so...unreal.

    The guy from Ga, Orlando Wison, used to have a nationally televised fishing show. He came to Des Allemands one time and tried for catfish. A gator hunter here showed him a spot where these huge cypress logs sunk 120 years ago, when they logged them and floated them in rafts to the mill. His first catfish went over 80 lbs, and he was trying to fight it on a bass rod...LOL. He went back to bass fishing.

    Whenever the touring catfish guys come to town I'm always amazed at their boats. These are some serious rigs!

    Our son has a built Ranger 610, 300 Yamaha custom rod holders, fish tank etc. for Catfish tournaments.

    The 2nd and last day today...The two day total for the winners was 6 catfish for 314 lbs...a new US record. These two guys say they caught over 8,000 lbs of catfish in two days, and only had 8 catfish under 20 lbs, , and 15 catfish under 30 lbs!
