This reflects the company worldwide...Our profits are only based on North American Operations...

Our site's OT policy was they could force overtime up to 6 12 hour days within a Sunday thru Sat week (69 hours/week paid 1/2 hour lunch periods was unpaid), and they couldn't force more than 240 work hours within any 4 consecutive weeks. The company's view was it was cheaper to pay out OT, than it was to hire additional workers and pay their benefits. When they interviewed potential new hires, they asked up front if you would be OK with that.

The busy OT periods were usually Sept-Dec. The Holidays didn't count toward the hours worked either, unless you actually worked it. Some OT hounds signed waivers to voluntarily exceed the limits when everyone was maxed out.

Not saying I don't work a lot of long weeks (I'm an OT whore), but volunteering and being required are two totally different deals.

Got ya, totally different deal when you know it’s required up front.
