If I remember correctly, one of my Live 12's on standby draws 1.3 Amps

Yes but far less than when the screen is lit. I always put my helm unit in stand by when fishing from the bow and I standby the two front graphs when running.

Good Info Thanks. I always stop my transducers and put 2 units in standby.
But at end of day when charging I could tell they were still drawing some amps.

Sonar stops automatically when in standby mode.

Sonar still pings when sonar is off or in standby. It just pings with less intensity.

Stopped sonar it doesn't ping at all.

In standby it pings normally. If you have units that are networked by ethernet, a unit in standby can be a sonar source for other unit(s).

Before adamantly backing up my previous statement, I decided to go power up my units to make sure I was not in left field.

Apparently my structure scan was set to AI 3 in 1 which really means the other transducer on the network and not the one connected to "this unit". So when I set the source to "this unit" on the bow hds live, the trolling motor mounted 3 in 1 went completely silent.

Kind of nonsense that the 2d sonar sources are labeled the same as the mfd name while the structure scan side is either labeled as "this unit" or the transducer type of the alternate source.

Regardless, I now agree that stopping sonar does infact stop the transducer pinging.

Not to sound like a know it all but the words Stop Sonar, seem to be self-explanatory. When sonar is stopped, there is no sonar, i.e. no pinging and no scrolling.

Well, one would think standby would stop the sonar from pinging too....just saying. So it did not seem out of the question that my transducer was acting the same when sonar was stopped as it did in when unit was in standby .

Are you sure about that? I was getting interference on my bow unit. 2d transducer mounted on troll motor. Interference was from the transom mount 2d transducer. I had the console-transom unit in standby and it was still pinging. I went around putting my ear up to the transducers to prove it. Lol They were clicking- pinging in standby and were off in sonar off.
