    NRX+ 904C MBR

What techniques are you throwing on this rod? I understand the MBR action is very versatile, trying to understand how this translates to on-the-water experience ?

Anything that I would use the MBR 844 for, with the additional 6" length for longer casts, better long line hooksets, and deeper parabolic loading for resistance baits like big wakes and larger squarebills. Would also be a great deep water jig/bottom contact rod, 3/8-3/4 + trailer. Also 1/2-1 oz spinnerbaits and 1/2-1 oz oz buzzbaits.

I have the Conquest version of the 904 MBR and use it for a ton of things. Carolina rig. Mag draft. Finesse A-rig. Big jigs. Bigger wakes.

Heavy wobble heads, heavier football jigs. 1/2-3/4 oz. Have even used it for a C rig.

    I’ve owned both.
The NRX seemed more sensitive to my hand and the Conquest felt more powerful. Not in the rod action just in the hand feel. Conquest weighs a little more.

Would the NRX throw a 3/4oz chatterbait with trailer?

I got the 904c today. Not sure if I like it. The handle feels even shorter than what the description would indicate and the rod is too heavy, even with my CC 201hg.

Thinking of returning it to get a conquest 904c instead.

Tip heavy, power heavy, or just weight heavy?

Put a butt cap on it with some weight.

Yeah no. Not spending that kind of money to do that. There are other rods out there that are at least as sensitive and light and are better balanced.

Tip heavy. Power is good. Definitely a heavy power. Just don't understand why Gloom is out such a short handle on it for a rod that is supposed to be used for moving baits where a longer handle is often preferred

I have two NRX+904's. Originally had Metaniums on them and switched to Bantams, balances much better IMO. As for the shorter handle it feels fine to me. I actually prefer these over the 894's.

I thing NRX+ 904C is the best rod made right now. I’ve been throwing smaller A-rigs on mine this winter. Also great for any dragging techniques. I’ll trade you my brand new Destroyer FMJ for the new 904c you don’t like
