Can dealer add dts shifter

Sorry no serial # still working on deal with dealer ,looking at purchasing a 2023 ranger 620 with a 250 pro xs v8,boat comes with a manual shift not dts ,can dealer remove manual shifter and install a dts shifter ,thank u

I am no expert, but I do remember reading that a DTS motor has a different PCM and additional digital sensors. While a dealer could do all the work it would be way more expensive. I also remember that DTS requires Smartcraft gauges. If you really want a DTS motor, order one but I think upgrading a mechanical motor would be cost prohibitive.

A “mechanical” motor shifts way smoother because it is mechanically controlled but electronically actuated. What are your requirements that you need a DTS motor?

Engines are either DTS when manufactured, or not. Mercury doesn't offer "upgrade kits" for them.

BOAT could be re-rigged, but it would be a considerable expense, as all of the mechanical controls and wiring would have to be removed from the boat, and replaced with DTS Rigging.

The good news is that even the Mechanical ProXS models are ELECTRONIC Throttle and Shift. Responses are near instantaneous, just like your previous DTS engines were. Just have most of the "command" side of the system moved inside the engine cowling on the mechanical ones (cables operate the the demand sensors).
