Sounds good, I agree. Currently looking at putting the engine diagnostics via mercury smart craft and a NMEA network onto a fish finder. An updated console graph would be nice anyway and I already own the graph. The worry is cost at this point, money is getting tight. I'll also ask in the Stratos forum what those guys are running for their jack plate height.

I am looking at doing Mercury Smartcraft through a NMEA network to my fishfinder. The only concern is price. I already have the mount and the fish finder so it really comes down to whatever smartcraft/NMEA is going to cost and labor.

Thanks Joe, will do. I know I have a Slidemaster plate. Not sure on the size, but my guess would be 6". The boat is now in the shop so the tech can quote me on the smartcraft setup. I saw the prices of the gateway and needless to say I started sweating a little bit lol.

It very much is. Hopefully it gets better soon. For now, though, if this is what it takes to fish tournaments and do well, then it is what needs to be done.

Update, I borrowed the boat again last weekend and took a friend out on a fairly large lake. Water pressure was good and the gauge read that it was optimal (20psi). Motor was peeing the whole time except after coming off pad after a run across the lake, it took about 5 seconds and then started peeing again. Is that not normal or have I just not noticed it before?

I have asked about prop to pad in the Stratos forums, and a lot of guys seem to be running similar to mine. I notice with this four blade 24p prop that it takes a little longer than usual to get on pad. It kind of sounds like the motor is bogging down, but once it is on pad this thing rips. I also noticed that with the 26p 3 blade, there was quite the rooster tail while on plane. There is absolutely no rooster tail with this new prop. Still waiting on the tech to quote me on mercury smartcraft.

That's normal on the telltale... coming off plane the poppet has to close and the block has to refill to build enough backpressure for the telltale to return.

Thank you for the reply, seeing that gave me a small flashback from the sandbar incident LOL.

Thanks Joe, once I actually am able to have the boat back permanently, I will look into adjusting the slidemaster jackplate. I don't have a clue how to adjust it, so once I have the time to figure that out, I will.
