    Rigging tube

    Serial number 1b937353

My factory rigging tube has torn so many times I'm to the point of no longer being able to cut the bad part off and screw the good part in.. So I went to the big box home improvement store and got a 2.5" shop vac hose. I split the tube down the middle and fit it over the wires and hoses which worked well.

The factory tube is a tad bit bigger and actually thread's into the rigging gromet as the vac tube doesn't.

Does any one know the size of the factory rigging tube to it can screw in grommets? I would split the factory tube as well so I'm not unhooking all the lines and hoses.

If you don't absolutely have to have an OEM rigging tube, TH Marine makes a "Zippered Rigging Sleeve" that just zips over your hoses & wires. You can find them online or we can get them here as well. See link below.

2 1/2" is the one you want and 2 stainless clamps to attach to engine and thruhull.Material is very strong and hook and loop will not open.

I can tell you that the Merc tube used on those engines is an odd size, and as of yet, I've not seen an alternative that fit PROPERLY.

There is a way to change the rigging flange out to use the standard 2" hose, BUT it becomes pretty crowded in that tube. It is, however, a more durable tube.

This is the way to go in most cases. Leave about 6in of the mercury tube screwed in place on each end, then install the T&H sleeve

With TH Marine zippered sleeve....did people buy the boot that goes alont with it or just slide the sleeve into the exisiting boot. Have a Ranger 521c. Also, how exactly do the zippered sleeve work at the eingine? Slide inside?
