My 97 Intruder (175) has been bogging when loading, but I'm not exactly sure what they're talking about...is this the roller they mean?

Nope, this roller, its under the top cover.
In this picture the top cover has been removed.
The roller is back from the timing cam.
See the Phillips head screw on the arm with the washer, (to the right of the roller) loosen it and move the roller forward until the roller touches the cam.
In this picture the roller is correct, as soon as the roller moves the timing starts to advance.

Thanks...I'll have to see if thats my issue or not!
Just curious...whats that other roller for?
It moves the throttle plates when the timing advance starts to move, the 60 degree motor is the only one in the line that does this, all the rest move the timing first for a few degrees and then the throttle starts to move.
Yeah, mine was like the top pic---hopefully that was the issue. Haven't had a chance to take it out yet; this may help my holeshot issues as well!
If you have a bogging on take off issue with a 60 degree motor this is a good place to start.![]()
Please follow up on this and let us know how it turned out for you.
thanks,
Dayton
Will do...it's been rainy but I hope to get the boat in the water tonight...
