    Trolling Motor Interference (Mega Live)

My trolling motor is a 80lbs Fortrex. I’m running Mega Live to Solix units with no other transducer active. When current is flowing to the trolling motor at 80 speed or less the mega live will get interference from 40/80+ feet. I never get this interference at the closer distance. I’ve also noticed that if my trolling motor is on 100 speed I also do not get the interference.

I had this issue on my 360 (non mega) and ran a ground from the trolling motor to the negative of the graph battery. This solved interference issues on the 360 but not the mega live.

There is no battery charger on the boat and all electronics are on a dedicated lithium battery. I’ll soon be updating to a Quest but would like to solve this issue before then.

I have experienced the same problem. No previous rf from any where. Would only happen when I went from 40 fow to 60 fow
My solix is gen2, maybe a humminbird update would help us both..

I did some troubleshooting in the garage and discovered that the ground wire from my graph battery to the trolling motor is causing my interference. This wire was put in place to clear 360 interference. I now have to decide which transducer I prefer not to have interference on. Otherwise I’d have to upgrade to a mega 360.

Updating to the brushless motor will likely solve the problem for you.
