    Dealing with the heat

Anyone got any good suggestions for dealing with the heat besides fishing at night?

throw the sun screen on, drink plenty of water, and make sure you have a good hat. I have soaked my hat before in water and it helps a little until it drys up in five seconds. The sun is dangerous enough but I have found the humidity to get to most people. Always stay well hydrated while fishing in those dog days.

Frogg Toggs Chill pad, wet it, wrap it around the back of your neck and you will stay cooler all day... stays cold as long as there is a little wind. If not take it off and swing it around a couple times and it will cool down.

I repeatedly dunk a white towel in my ice chest throughout the day and put on my neck.

Don't forget your swim trunks; sometimes you just need to jump in to cool off.

Get a big brimmed floppy booney style hat, swim occasionally throughout the day, wet your clothes and hat. Most important is to drink LOTS of water!! If you ain't peeing, you ain't drinking enough!
