    New technique needed

I need someone to find a great fish catching technique (or share with me if you already have one) for catchin largemouth that is not so S-L-O-W...seems after the morning bite here in CA it is dropshot, split shot, texas and carolina....I need a technique that produces fish that is not so monotonous PLEASE HELP

I can get a few here and there with jerkbaits throughout the day but overall it seems the guys that go to wormin' do better during the day.

Maybe a jig is all I can think..but it does not work all the time - espeically when keyed on baitfish. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR THE HELP!

Start Cranking.... IF they are on bait fish then match the hatch. If there are stripper busting try cranking under them. Alot of times bass will school up under them and eat the bait fish that are falling. Also yu could try some soft plastic swimbaits such as reaction inn. Skinny dippers or yum money minnows. Jut some other options. But some times they will only be on dropshots and shakey heads. Also try wacky rigs. Just my 2 cents.

Hate to tell you but a lot of the time the best way to catch them is on a worm. I would rather slowly drag a worm around all day than chunk a crankbait all day.

I need to spend a day with KVD to learn how he seems to get fish on the "reaction bite" most of the time...LOL

The slowness of a worm may grow on me more with age but it just seems when it is windy or fishing is slow that is is tough for me to stay concentrating hard as I know I should be to fish a worm, shaky or drop for hours on end.
Guess this is where fishing gets to be a very mental challenge...those 10 hour tourney days where 3 fish wins it....it is the man that can best control his mind...
Especially as a backseater it can drive me crazy...

I agree with Patro. A lot of times thats the only way.

Also, KVD though they might not show it but he has to slow down too.

Re: New technique needed (SKEETER ZX202)

I know he has to slow down from time to time as well....it is just one of those where in most of the local tourneys I have fished I am catchin as many or more fish than anyone on reaction baits (jerks mainly) but when the day warms up and we gotta slow down I am losin' ground.
I have started to dropshot with a very short (about 4") distance from my weight to worm and that is helping but always looking to learn and improve.
