Guys, I chase brown fish all over W.V. , Tennessee, and Kentucky. I fish a TON of jigs and tubes to mimic crawfish. Here is a link that has crawfish colors, locations and even size in some instances. Enjoy and catch one for me!

cool link. I use a color on one tournament lake here that works in all types of plastics. Last year I found crawfish in the livewell bass had spit out en route to weigh in. Both were exactly the same color that works so well. very interesting

Joe,

If you click on the type for each one it will give you their range and preferred habitat. It may take some time, but its worth it. Lots of the crawdads range will over lap..so it can be beneficial to try a couple different colors that are native to the area to see which one they are eating.

IF it was only that simple...your Lay Lake live crawfish was nailed by the Revenge craw jig colors...so many times I see crawfish pieces in the livewell but the water clears, shad become more common, baitfish get high and thick near piers or something gets in the way of "dialing them in" the next few days...

My best success is cooler months and very dingy waters before shad get going.
I saw some craw colors in my livewell last Thurs then Saturday (when it counted) I had a 1/2 oz Stone with red head craw jig and Paca red shad trailer (rattle inside, orange tips added)...could not buy a bite. Maybe because wind was way up and blew bait fish around that same area.
The crawfish are more green during fast growth weeks...like bass fishing overall, factors galore and they interact...
