Right rod for a tube ???

    Hi guys !!!
    I'm a spinner/senko addict, all my rod are a med-heavy power.
I want to buy the perfect set-up to drag the bottom with a tube.
I have the St-Croix legendtournament in head.
    St-croix suggest a 6.6 med/fast or a 6.8 med/xtra-fast.
Regarding to you, what is the perfect lenght, power and action set-up for this application ???
    Thank you.

the 6-8 sounds good. I had some 6-10 m exf crucials and draged tubes at erie and st clair they where great. and i like baitcasting better. on lenght i would say 6-8 and longer the longer rod sure helps on them smalies. line 8-12 floro

    I forgot some details:

I have a fuego baitcast reel to match this rod.
    I use 12 pound floro.

I'd suggest a 7' medium fast action spinning, the st croix legend tournament 7' med is perfect and actually technique specific for tubes. I'd go with a good 8 lb fluro for line. For baitcast I'd stick with a 7' medium action also.

That 6'8" med/xfast would be a perfect setup imo. Around here I grew up tube fishing and a solid medium action spinning rod with a fast taper does the trick. Anything from that length to 7' would be a good choice
