    Senko replacements...

With the wealth of knowledge around here, I was curious what everyone would suggest for a real senko replacement. It seems every bait company out there has a stick bait, however the Yamamotos seem to fall different than all the ones I've tried. If I have to suck it up and pay 6-7 bucks a pack, then i will, however I'm hoping that someone may know of a company that makes a bait that falls at the same rate and with the same action as the 'motos'

I've been using the bass pro shops version for shallower water, since they fall very slowly, and swim really erratically. My problem is that when the senko pattern is on, most of the companies baits I've tried just don't fall the same as the real thing.

    Advice would be MUCH appreciated!!!

The dingers fall okay, but they are still lighter than the "motos" It may come down to using some small nail weights on the cheaper versions to get the right fall, but I'd love to find something that's almost identical.

The Strike King Ocho's are less expensive and work.

However.....they are still just a tad lighter than the GY......BUT...they are softer with great action.

If you try them.....keep them out of the sun or they turn to butter and tear easy.

It's just so tough to beat the GY sinko........

I was in the same situation as you, and after hearing so many good things about Alluringbaits.com I decided to make a order. The stick baits are almost a perfect match to GYB, they are scented also, the price is very good, but the best part is the customer service that Brent gives (unmatchable). Brent gets your order out and on its way asap, and if by some chance there is a problem he will actually email you and let you know. Check out his site, he offers more then just stick baits and it all produces fish.

Try B&M baits. He has an ebay store. Pretty good senko and beaver copies as well as some nice buzzbaits and spinnerbaits.

I will agree with you on Todd's baits. I have ordered several of his baits and I have nothing but GREAT things to say about them.

The Yum Dingers are the closest thing I have tried so far but none of them work as well as the originals. I do not fish senkos as much anymore as I have better luck with Zoom finesse worms. Watch ebay and you can find deals on there as that is how I stocked up.

Wave worms fall a lot quicker... The closest thing i have found is the BPS series ones. they have worked great for me so far. and are very similar.

Wacky worm Wacko are the best. They sink just a hair faster. Great price on them also.

    Think a 50 bag is $16 to 18
Why do people fish, some say people fish to get fish, this is obviously false

    Re: Senko replacements... (tsuprum)

If your a senko guy you'll always come back to yamamoto no matter what...

I have personal switch over atlease 3 times to a few different brand and nomatter what the original still out fishes the rest...especially in deeper waters

in my opinion its worth every penny..if I can catch a dozen of bass from a bags of senkos its so worth it to me ..all the other brands catches bass as well but nothing come near yamamoto as far as quickness in strikes...when I switch to yum dinger I was averaging 15 to 20 bass per day switch back to senkos next day and I double the amount in catches on the same body of water...its kinda like magic...lol

Depends on what size you're talking about. None of the 5" baits I've tried can equal Kinami/Yamamoto baits. A cheaper alternative that I still like is the Netbait Salt Lick.
For 6" baits which I throw a lot more of, the Dingers work great.
