I put them on my old Champion, they were great for running, but tough when night fishing because of the glare. I solved the issue by adding a two way switch where I could turn them off and still use the bow pole light. Also I place I fish regularly has USCG patrolling. I pulled into the same dock they were at with my LED strips on, and got a thumbs up from one of the guys on their boat. Maybe he just had a thing for old Champs, but never said a word about the CG regulation.

Unless you are having an inspection I doubt they would say a word. The legal part of insurance coverage and law suits is the possible fly in the ointment without CG certification of any particular light. JMO Bob
