Junebug if you can see about a foot deep
B&B or Black Neon when it is less than that.

Re: Plastics color for dirty water (whoza_daddy)

One of the best comments I ever hears last year while fishing with a buddy that fishes the pro side of the Opens. He has gotten a check in everyone he has fished. Long story short we were on a crankbait bite and got into somedirtier water so right away I changed colors and noticed he did not. I asked why and he calmly replied that he has yet to see a shad change colors because of muddy water. ...really opened my eyes that we overthink this stuff sometimes.

Re: Plastics color for dirty water (Mark Perry)

Been doing some research on this topic tonight because my tournament saturday is going to be in nasty water after these rains and prefished today in the murk. I tried naturals (lights and darks) and even the Mertholate color from Zoom....none caught more than the others. But what Mark says makes sense....I found a crawfish at the ramp this morning and it was beautiful green with black flecks, and later I found a dying shad in muddy water that was the same as it would have been in clearer water.
So really after all my research and ya'lls input I still dont know what works best in the chocolate milk water!

Suprisingly (And I've heard several pros say this more than once)

Black is visible to fish in dirty, stained, and muddy water.

As far as color for me, i agree with black and blue, junebug, and black neon, they're all good choices

Re: Plastics color for dirty water (nhbass)

Like others have said black/whatever colored flake and junebug. For dirty water I pay more attention to other attracting aspects like sound or movement.

That works great around here when the water is stained...I don't like plain green pumpkin that well, but add a little Spike-It to the mix and it takes on a whole new appearance
Black/blue or black/red are probably the best though...
    Black/orange too
