ETEC Fuel System Management
A couple of weeks ago I didn't do my usual due diligence in managing fuel burn and ballast on port and starboard tanks and ran the starboard tank dry. Depleted it while on plane. 2006 Ranger 519 with 06 200 ETEC.
Anyway. Ever since then the motor seems to be stumbling (for lack of a better term) while idling. Its fine with power settings above idle and on plane. Also on idle the RPM gauge is very erratic and oscillates from a normal idle to as much as 3000 rpm.
Is it possible that by running the one tank dry it introduced additional trash in the system which clogged the VST (going to check after posting this) or other filters? Injectors? I'll be pulling these after the fishing season and sending in for service. I've never ran a tank dry before so are there any other recommended checks I should be considering?

Any check engine light? As described there is also a possibility a slug of water got picked up as well as trash. Check the on engine filter first.

No engine lights. I was planning on checking the engine filter but as luck would have it I got side tracked today and didn't have a chance to look at any of it. Thanks for the reply and recommendation
