Tuna Popping Trip to Panama -- May '24 -- Room for one BBCer

After going in April 2021 as a "once in a lifetime" trip, we have been back to Sport Fish Panama Island Lodge twice and we have trip #4 scheduled for May of 2024. Each time we've had at least a couple of BBCers with us and this time will be no different. We have 11 of 12 spots (four people per boat) filled and we're looking for one more angler.

Everything about this lodge is built for serious anglers -- first class tackle and accommodations and incredible fishing. We've chosen May because it's the heart of the tuna popping season. I've been to El Salto ~20 times and the Amazon three times, and I love them both, but this is the best topwater fishing I've ever experienced. It's hard to explain except to say that I dream of it daily. We'll also have opportunities to chase other species, including billfish, roosterfish, mahi and cubera snapper.

It's not inexpensive, but it's worth every penny. Even if you think you only care about bass, I'm certain that you'll be amazed by the scenery, the service and of course how hard these fish strike and pull (and how good they taste). Message me here or email fishmore@halfpastfirstcast.com for more info.

I hope we'll go back every year. If you want to get news of our upcoming trips, sign up for our newsletter at www.halfpastfirstcast.com. We usually send out two updates a month about Panama, Guatemala, Alaska, Mexico.

We've got some Mexico dates for next year, too. So many 4-6 pounders this year it was scary -- hope they keep eating.
