    in the brush

I have heard that they are pulling the 5-8#ers out of the middle of the buch brush on 1+ oz jigs on "telephone poles". freinds have told me colors and where, and 60+# braided line, but not what constitutes a t-pole, and how to get the bait into the bottom/backs of the buck brush?

7' heavy rod, 50-65# braid, and pitch that jig way back in there!

I don't know why they are using that heavy of a jig??? Usually a 1/2 oz. is plenty, and I more often use a 1/4oz. The key is pitching the jig with enough force to get back there to the good spots.

You just have to horse them out. I just learned to fish that way a few years back, and it's a blast. You don't really worry too much about getting them out.....Just getting the bite.

Once you get the bite, you just let that heavy action rod, and winch cable that you have spooled up do the rest. It's simply amazing what 50# braid is capable of!

I have seen MANY fish fly over the boat on the hook-set....

I still haven't really got into fish good this year in the buck brush, and a lot of our spawn is over. But, I'm still looking for the right situation. It's awesome!
