    Chatter Bait/Swimbait.

A guide on Lake Fork turned me on to this. He was throwing a Chartruse Chatter Bait with a white 3.5 inch swim bait, he took off the Chatter Bait skirt, said it hinders the required water movement to really "thump". And it looks REALLY awesome in the water. Don't know if a bait like that would work here in Illinois, but for you guys lucky enough to live close by big bass waters...give it a try.

That's the only way I've caught them on a chatterbait. Try putting a Yamamoto swimbait on it.

Mister E, how do you tie you line? Do tie on the top side of the spinner blade? (Holding in your hand with the lure in the conventional form just as you would tie a jig or spinnner bait etc.) Or do you tie you line under the blade? Just curious.............................

Ive used a fluke on a chatterbait which dosent hurt the thump with great results, but didnt think of a swimbait.

You tie to the bottom of the blade when the bait is sitting in your palm with the hook up.

The smaller size (3.5") Lake Fork Magic Shad makes a very good bait with the skirt removed. Also a Zoom Fluke (not the Super Fluke) makes a good trailer with the skirt. Larry Brumley

I"ve seen a couple of pros use that technique.

Yes, it was the 3.5 Lake Fork Magic Shad.
