How would you fish HEAVY WIND conditions??

Hey all.. We have a small bbc tx tomorrow and the forcast is for 30+ MPH winds.. It'll be post front, clear, upper 60*s air, low 70*s water and windy as heck!! (Lake Toho, Fl.) Shallow, stained water w/lots of topped out hydrilla.. Any ideas for the wind?? Thanks!!

We deal with the wind alot here in kansas. A spinnerbait is a good choice on a windy day. I like to retrieve it right over the tops of and occasionally right through shallow vegetation and wood. When I'm fishing a windy day I try to exploit an active bite, throwing moving baits because it is so difficult to detect bites on worm/jig type presentations in the wind. Good luck to ya, and I hope that helps a little.

Try to fish the channels if you want to get out of the wind. Or....protected bay.......especially if they are getting on beds.

    Good luck!

Rattle traps throw well in the wind and catch the crap out of them. Find a place that has a little break from the wind- enough you can control the boat, and Cover water. Or if a plastic bite is working, throw a C-Rig, with a big sinker, keeping your rod tip at water level to keep the wind from sailing your line.
