Shallow heavy cover crank suggestions. (I <3 my hustler)

Looking for somewhat of a specific crank rod. It will be for 1.5/2.5, 6th sense mvmnt squarebill duty in shallow “heavy” cover (laydowns, piers, brushtops etc) Leaning towards a composite/graphite blank and wanting something around 6’10” but no longer than 7’ to keep close quarter target casting accurate. Looking at powell, phenix, dobyns and even the lews kvd as it’s on sale right now. I’m open to suggestions and/or experience with any of the above brands mentioned.

I already have a ALX hustler and am extremely happy with it just looking for a 2nd setup as I throw a shallow/medium crank quite often up to around 12’ and trying to be able to have something tied on and ready for brush in 3’ or rockpiles and stumps in 12’.

Makes sense to look at carbon - a lot of our customers who fish squarebills around tight cover like the ZOLO Dream and IKOS Buzz. The carbon construction lets those rods react a little faster than the glass in the IKOS Hustler. Carbon is naturally going to have more feel too, so sometimes that is helpful because you can feel the SQB deflect or bump into things a little more than with the glass rod and respond accordingly.

So always an option there. The ZOLO Rosa is a shorter sister to the ZOLO Dream.

Great information alx I’ll definitely check those models out, i spoke with you before buying the hustler and it’s been everything i was hoping for and have since bought my dad and a good friend one as well. It does everything asked of it don’t get me wrong, I think Im just addicted to cranking and my curiosity has me wanting to try a 2nd style rod and don’t want to take the glass rod off of 3/5xd and dt 6/8/10 duty

Yeah man - it makes sense. We have a lot of guys who fish SQBs with a carbon rod. Typically they want the extra sensitivity because they are banging off stuff and want to feel everything.
