    Berkley Vanish Transition any good?

Walmart has it on clearance for $7.00 a spool and theres about 8 spools of 12/14 lb test. I believe they have are asking $9 for the 8 adn 10 lb test.. Is it a good line? I had problems with the regular Berkley Vanish line and don't want to go back to it. If anyone wants me to pick up some line for them, I can sell it to you for $9 (to cover cost of gas and taxes)+ shipping

In my opinion Transition is only a little better than vanish, A very little too. If your just fishing then I guess it wouldn't be such a bad buy, but if your fishing T's then don't put your money on the line with it. It'll break off on hookset's and you'll be retying an insane amount with it. Again just my opinion.

I never had a problem with it. But, I did notice after I bought a bunch of 12lb Stren floro that the stren was much tougher at 12lb than the vanish was at 17lb. I used 14lb vanish transistion and liked it pretty well. I found it beter than the regular vanish.

BTW, I never broke a fish off on the hookset with it. No problems landing fish with it at all.

just be very careful (like with all floro) tying your knot.

I learned the hard way in a TX... lost three good fish on hookset.. this stuff is junk... go with Trilene 100% Floro or PLine... you'll be glad you did.. I am..

dosent fit the charistics of flouro, i used it several times when it first came out, and its horriable, nicks VERY easy, freys VERY easy, i gave it every chance to prove its a good line , bought 6 spools of it, was constantly cuttin off line that was freyed up , to keep from losin fish, and lost some to boot from breakin off...HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED !!

I'm surprized to hear that some of you guys have had so many bad experiences. I love the stuff. Great casting, great sesitivity, good hook sets. It does nick up so you've got to check your line. I mainly fish it in deep brush piles with football jigs. 20lb is my favorite.

I like vanish in 17lb, never had a problem. Pline for me had too much memory, and didn't perform as well. I wouldn't hesitate to put on vanish, but I do want to try the other floro's available.

Transition stinks. Breaks easily on hooksets. Its a shame too, I really like the visibility above the waterline. I'll stick with my Bass Pro fluoro.

Got two spools at my Wal-mart for $4 a spool. I never had it break off. Tie the uni-knot.
