I was wondering if any of you concentrate on shallow grass patterns for most or the entire year? What are some of your best patterns for this type fishing when these fronts come through and somewhat muddy the water up?

Well its definately visible. Most of the marsh we fish is only bout 2 to 4 feet deep. Its seems to me like it would fish a lot like the Flordia lakes do without the tide movement.
Ripping a rattletrap over the top of it.

In real shallow, visible grass, about the only thing we throw is weightless soft plastics (senko, fluke, floating worms, etc.) top water frogs (horney toads, ribbits, etc.) or spinnerbaits.. If it's matted with water under it, try punching through it by flipping heavy 1-1.5 oz t-rigged soft plastics.
post frontal, and /or muddy water the bass dont move much at all.they hunker down and tight, real tight to cover.its plastic time for me.i down size to a b.b. cricket size bait or a trick worm and fish it slow to deadsticked.i look for any irregularities in the grass that a bass might side up to.i would also try a weightless fluke and twitch it and let it settle on top of grass for at least 15-30 sec.a jig and pig would be a good bet also.id also throw in a buzz bait every once in awhile as a search bait.

Thanks guys the worst time is naturaly right after a front passes through and muddies the water up. In several places the grass is matted very thick and i have tried to punch it but i really have a hard time finding something to key on to hold intrest in it. Like i said the waters are mostly 3 ft deep and its acres and acres of hydrilla. Its so thick its hard to fish other than a topwater, but when its murky i cant get them to turn loose on top. Keep the ideas rolling!!!!!
