How do you tie the hook on a dropshot rig to get the hook to stand out?
After you tie your palomar knot, you run the tag end through the hook eye. I forgot if its through from the front, or from the back but you'll see which way is correct when you do it.
After you have tied the palomar hold the hook in your fingers with the point up and run your tag line around the outside of the hook eye and come back down through from the top
When you tie your palomar, pass the line through the eye on the gap side, bring it back through to make you loop, tie the knot, and pass the over the hook gap side first, then tighten. Most of the time the hook will be standing the way you want it. If it is still off to one side then do as others have said and pass the tag through the eye on the gap side.
