so far i am with gatorboy! the rattlin vibe is my fav but is interesting to see how many like the trap
I won't say it can't be beaten, But it's hard to beat Rat-L-Traps.![]()
i catch alot of fish on the trap,my only complaint is they dont track as true as a vibe when burning it,they tend to turn sideways, also the paint comes off easier.i have a bunch of paintless traps but the vibes just have a bunch of teeth marks in em.

Each brand works well under the right conditions, and no one brand will always work. Of course you don't need every brand made either.
The best all around, day in and day out is the Rat-L-Trap, followed closely by the Cordell Super Spot.
I use those two most of the times, but also have found that there were times when fish would eat a Rattlin Rap (Rapala) when they would not hit other lipless baits.
I believe it is because they have a slightly different wobble and a much quieter rattle.
The other, more expensive brands also catch a lot of fish, but you will find when fish are hitting them, they will also hit a Trap or Spot. Trap with Gamakatsu hooks added comes to under $5, so why spend $16 - $20![]()

I like the Yo-Zuri Drum and the LV lucky craft series. I know they are more expensive, but when the guy in the front is throwing a Trap and i' out catching him 3-4 to 1 I think their worth it.

I like the Xcalibur version. I feel that it is a high quality bait with excellent hooks and it has a pretty reasonable price tag (usually $6.99 if not on sale). Try one in Rayburn Red!!!
Another vote for a Rat-L-Trap and a Cordell Spot.
If you get some traps I HIGHLY recommend changing out the hooks. Cordell Spots aren't so bad, but the stock hooks on a trap are about as sharp as a Q-tip. At least be sure to sharpen them before you start throwing the trap.

I ma a Trap man. But I wish the Chrome would stay on the bait longer.
Creativity is the defeat of habit.
