    Question for P-Line Users?

How does the Floroclear compare to the C-XX as far as strenth goes?

I have never used the CXX, but I am a huge fan of floroclear. With 8lbs test on a spinning rod I can barely get it to break if I snag it.

Re: Question for P-Line Users? (PA Greg)

I have been snagged in a brushpile with 8# CXX and actually pulled the boat to the bait trying to break the line. Finally, whenever I get over the top the hook normally straightens out and it will come loose. So I end up changing hooks and retying anyway

Re: Question for P-Line Users? (Bass Hawk 87)

Let me try this again! I presentlly use P-Line CXX, I'm thinking about using the Flouroclear on one of the combo's I use for a specific technque. Is the Flouroclear equal to the CXX in the same line size? I feel that CXX of the same advertized strenth is actually more equal to other brands line advertized next size up in my opinion. Example CXX 12 lb. is equal to most others 15 lb line. Trying to find out the comparison between CXX and Flouroclear so not to have to do a lot of trial and error to find the right size Flouroclear I need to use. Thanks!

Never used CXX but I use 6 and 8lb Floroclear and its tuff stuff. Its pretty dang hard to break it when I'm hung on a deep brushpile.

Flouroclear is very strong...I use it as a leader when I C-rig and haven't broke one off yet..

Re: Question for P-Line Users? (TeamFATBOY)

If you are comparing 12# Floroclear to 12# CXX, The CXX is definitely the stronger of the two. The diameter of the CXX is larger, and it is pretty stiff. The Floroclear is a much softer line, and I think it compairs favorably when compared to any of the other manufacturer's lines of the same line test. Floroclear is a great product, but will not go shoulder to shoulder to the old CXX for overall strength. Give Floroclear a try, it's great line....Good Luck

That's what I'm looking for! So I'll need to step up one line size with Flouroclear to compare with the CXX's strenth!

Why not use the P-Line Flourocarbon.

yeah...unless you need it to float or stretch, that stuff don't break. It is not as bad to manage as you think, you can use the same test pound or more if you want and be way smaller than cxx. Plenty of "rodman specials" on that stuff
