    Braided Line Spooling

Braided line is pretty expensive and the small diameters do not seem to fill up most reel spools. I try to use the entire spool, with mono backing, since any unused portion doesn't fill up another spool. The question is the following....
Since braid has a smaller diameter, how do you gauge the amount of backing used so as to use most of the braided line and fill up the reel also? Many a time do I finish the purchased braided spool and find that I did not use enough backing to top off the reel spool. Any thoughts?

....What I do is spool the old off one reel onto another....That way you are useing the bottom or unused off the old spool which will now be on top on the new one...<>rob<>..

That is a good way to do it. You should post this in Clever Tips and Ideas.
